Jamie Williams was called to be pastor
of First Baptist March 18, 2007. He served 10 years as
Associate Pastor of Youth, Children, and Activities at First
Baptist in Moncks Corner, SC before coming here. Jamie is
a native of Sumter, SC. He has been married to
Heather Brown Williams since July 2001. Heather was formally
Children's Intern and Music Secretary at First Baptist Moncks
Corner. Together, they have two daughters: Joy, born
June 2006 and Ann Louise, born February 2009. Jamie holds an Associate Degree from North Greenville College, a Bachelor's Degree from Winthrop University, and a Master's of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. |

Terry Brown has served as Minister of Music and Education
at First Baptist since
1989. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri University
with a Bachelor of Music Education degree and holds a Master of
Divinity and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. His wife Nancy is the church organist. They have two married children, Chris Brown who is married to Beth and Heather Williams who is married to Jamie. Terry grew up in Arnold, MO near St. Louis. Nancy grew up in Gainsville, GA and Columbia, SC. |

Sheila Platts has served as Administrative Assistant since
1989. She and her husband Carl are both natives of Hampton County and have two children, Elizabeth and Cameron. |

Robin Holley has served as church pianist since 1994. She is a music teacher in the public school system. She and her husband Jim have two children, Maurine and Keely. |

Greg Robertson serves as part-time custodian, yard and general maintenance. Brenda Simon provides our cleaning/custodial service.

The First Baptist Church of Hampton was founded in 1880. It was located at Hoover's Station (now a part of Hampton) and thus called Hoover's Baptist Church. By 1881 it was the Hampton Baptist Church and in 1961 it officially became The First Baptist Church according to the Charter of Incorporation granted by the Secretary of the State of South Carolina. Our church is a direct descendant of The First Baptist Church of Charleston, South Carolina, the oldest Baptist church in the South. The Charleston church gave birth to The Beaufort Baptist Church, which gave birth to Lawtonville Baptist Church, which gave birth to Sand Hill Baptist Church, which served as the mother church to our new congregation.
